F is for Founders: We’ve got trading cards!

So, today we’re doing something fun — trading cards! Because we think goofing off is just as important as strategy and hard work when it comes to nation-building. (Surely there is scientific research to support this…I just haven’t read it yet. Have you? Share it in the comments…I love having new stuff to read.)

We used a random number generator to choose some of you who have been in conversation with us during this series to get a free digital trading card! The only hitch is, you have to have a good quality high-resolution photograph of yourself (or live in the hampton roads area and be available to meet us for a photo shoot).

Here is who the almighty random number generator chose:

We’ll be emailing you shortly to get your information.

Here are our trading cards. (Ummm…yeah. You have to turn your screen upside down to see the answers. Could also be a good opportunity for you to stand on your head.)

Talk to us!

What’s your alter ego, superpower, and kryptonite? I tip my hat to you, fellow founders of nations. The world needs you. (And for the next 24 hours, we’ll be answering your nation-building questions, engaging in riveting discussions, and giving numerous high fives, as per usual.)

This is such a cool idea! I’d have to give more thought to some of the answers, but my kryptonite is definitely a sink full of dirty dishes and tardiness — I can’t stand either!

  2. Erin Anacker says:

What if I want *your* trading card?! In my hands. Stat.

  3. Kelly Parkinson says:

My kryptonite keeps changing! Right now it’s seeing other people’s ideas & wishing I’d thought of it! (see above)
My superpower is running through mazes backwards while asleep. My other superpower is bear whispering.
My alterego–I keep thinking of people. The people who appeared in my head were Barbara Sher, Jillian Michaels, and A.A. Milne. Can you imagine these three in a room together? Can’t decide whether they’re my alter egos because they reflect who I am, or who I wish I could be.

  4. I love this! I was surprised how quickly I could write out my own trading card. Thank you for bringing the fun to my nation-building efforts!

  5. David Cohen says:

So awesome! My alter ego – there are two: the professor – affable, bookish, mercurial, intensely interested or not at all, then there is King Gravy, he’s fearless and uncensored, swagger personified, but I only let him out of the attic in times of special need. My superpower is a lot like Professor X from the X-men – I help people to recognize their own superpowers and learn to be confortable with them. Also I think in analogies and metaphor, and I can will markers to make people happy. My kryptonite – dried-out markers, sitting through presentations, assertive narcissists.

Alter Ego…..Director of Possibility – just the person you want at home base or back in the lair cracking the whip and helping you get things done.

Superpowers….Extreme listener, infinite ability to hold a protective space to let you do what needs to be done…story changer with a tenacious belief in you…

    Kryptonite…perfection and feeling like a fraud….

  8. Founding mother of Prosperity’s Kitchen
    Alter Ego…The Word Chef
Superpowers…Able to ask just the right question and then listen deeply for what’s NOT being said; Inspirational leaps of faith; super-sonic communication skills; can read anything upside down or backwards easy as pie.
Kryptonite…bright shiny objects, supernatural romance novels and people who can’t follow through.

p.s. – LOVE this idea, Sarah…and is it weird that I can totally read the answers without standing on my head?
