What is the one thing people need to know?

We’ve been getting lots of emails from you guys showing us your answers to your prompts. Keep sending ‘em! We love to get them. You can also upload images in the comments below. It’s pretty easy.

What is the one thing people need to know? [Time to completion: 10 minutes]

If people could just understand this one thing, then you know they would be become a patriot. What is that one thing? Find 21 small objects that represent this thing, and then do a 21-gun salute with your objects.

Yesterday, our intern Jen spent all day shooting a video for a top secret project (which you guys will get to see before long), and she got home late. But still, she persevered and got this done.

I’m not going to lie to you. I still don’t know exactly what these 21 objects represent. But you know what? That’s dedication right there.

I must admit this one broke my brain a little bit so I had to go rogue with my response. Hopefully that doesn’t cost me my gold star. The full explanation is here: http://www.equationarts.com/2012/09/spirograph-doodle/

So awesome David! This one was a brain-twister. I love how you took it to the depths…I love spirographs! This is beautiful.
What I was initially imagining was 21 of the same object. Like 21 seeds that stood for “find your potential”. Or 21 puzzle pieces that stood for “embrace curiosity”. But I’ve learned that people can take it and interpret it into something so unique to who you are. I love that.

Ah yes, 21 of the same thing makes it clearer. I might have chosen 21 paper clips or 21 markers of assorted colors – lots of good lessons there about over-bending yourself until your metal is fatigued, or losing sight of the character of a color and ending up with muddiness instead fo reaching the potential for vibrancy. But I like that I ended up with a Spirograph – it let me do a doodle of making doodles. Very meta :)

  2. I just had to participate in this prompt. I can’t believe I actually did it in 10 minutes (not including photo upload/edits. lol) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151136352823901&set=a.10150188520043901.321980.115977923900&type=1&relevant_count=1
